READ - GERMAN NEXT YEAR and in 8th grade is a full-year course. You must start foreign language in 7th grade; you cannot start in 8th grade. We will learn the basic building blocks of German sentences ( word order, verb endings, etc.) and basic phrases and much vocabulary. We will use my website, our textbook and handouts/ in-class work. There will be quizzes and tests but not much written homework - we work hard during our class time, so you don't have to work at home. We will still cover cultural topics and holidays as they come up. 8th grade covers more World War Two history, 7th grade will touch on PostWar Germany. So sign up for German in January - classes are about 20-25 kids and there are many bright, hard-working students taking German, which along with English is the language of business, science, technology, medicine and fun.
