I ate a literal ton of this during my year in Istanbul. I love both beef and chicken doner in all its forms. Shish durum and iskender are two of my favorite meat dishes.Did you know that Doener is Germany's favorite fast food according to an article in The German Weekly. Simply look at some of the menus on my food page to see the influence of foreign cuisine in German cities like Cologne and Berlin. A typical Imbiss or fast food stand might feature anything from Currywurst to Doner.
