I don't care for too many German singers. I like Muenchener Freiheit for their beautiful often Beatle-esque harmonies and lyrics, even though many of their songs are cheesy pop tunes. They prove that German doesn't have to sound harsh and the melody and lyric don't have to be silly or overtly political, as is often the case. Some have suggested Julie Neigel to me.

Uwe Kind is famous world-wide for his humorous cassettes and songbooks for language instruction available from Langenscheidt's, AATG or the Goethe Institut-New York, which features a few of his songs in the Video series "Die Deutschstunde".

Swiss immigrant Adolph Rickenbacker created some of the first electric guitars back in the 1920's. New official page! You know these guitars - John Lennon and occasionally Paul McCartney played Ricks, as did Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Lemmy, etc. I have a blue '76 4001 Stereo Bass that I will never part with.
