1. "Alle Jahre wieder" - Dinkelsbühler Knabenkapelle.

INITIATING THE ADVENT SEASON:

2. "Es kommt ein Schiff geladen" - collegium musicum: Mary with Child is brought from St. Bartholomä across the Königsee to usher in the Advent season. This custom of the early days of December is called "Frauentragen" (carrying Our Lady) or "Herbergsuche" (searching for an inn).

3. "Maria durch ein Dornwald ging" - Grit van Jüten:

4. "Es hat sich eröffnet" - Franzl Lang with the Alps as a backdrop and close-ups of Advent decorations and figurines from the "Erzgebirge" (Ore Mountains).

5. "Macht hoch die Tür" (Lift Up Your Heads Ye Mighty Gates) - Dinkelsbühler Turmbläser.

WAITING FOR ST. NIKOLAUS (December 6)

6. "Lasst uns froh und munter sein" - Siw Inger takes us to the Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt where children are waiting for St. Nikolaus. In the background are the Zwetschgenmännlein booth and the "Lebkuchenhäuschen."

7. "Jetzt fangen sie zu singen an" - the Bischofswieser Dirndl. St. Nikolaus with "Klausentreiben" (Bellsnickels) in Bavaria.

WAITING FOR CHRISTMAS EVE:

8. "Morgen, Kinder wird's was geben" - Kölner Kinderchor. Children anticipating Christmas and the "Weihnachtsmann" (the Protestant version of St. Nikolaus) are viewing store windows with pyramids from the Erzgebirge, dolls, trains and other toys.

9. "Es ist für uns eine Zeit angekomen" and 10. "Kling, Glöckchen, klingelingeling" (Ring Little Bells) - Heino und die Sonntagskinder as Starsingers (note the boys dressed as the 3 kings) wandering through the streets of Nürnberg.

11. "Leise rieselt der Schnee" - Lolita

12. "Süsser die Glocken nie klingen" - Adam and Eve at the Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt, they are joined by the Nürnberger Christkindl, dressed as a "Rauschgoldengel."

13. "O du fröhliche" - Heino und die Sonntagskinder.

CHRISTMAS EVE HAS FINALLY ARRIVED:

14. Church bells everywhere are ringing in Christmas.

15. "Vom Himmel hoch" - collegium musicum

16. (O Tannenbaum - O Christmas Tree) - Christmas Eve and Franzl Lang has gone to get his tree, which, typically, is not decorated before the 24th.

17. "Tochter Zion" - Dinkelsbühler Knabenkapelle ushering in Christmas.

18. "Inmitten der Nacht" - Schwarzwald-Familie Seitz walk through the streets and stop to watch a "Lebkuchen-Bäcker" baking gingerbread.

19. "Herbei, o ihr Gläubigen" (Oh Come, All Ye Faithful) - Rex Gildo.

20. "Ihr Kinderlein kommet" (Oh Come, Little Children) - Heino und die Sonntagskinder.

21. "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" (Behold A Branch Is Growing) - Regensburger Domspatzen.

22. "Es wird schon gleich dumpa (dunkel)" - Lolita sings an Austrian cradle song.

23. "Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier" - Tölzer Knabenchor

24. "Der Engel des Herrn" - Ottobrunnner Viergesang presents a traditional alpine-Catholic recounting of the Christmas story, ending with the Ave Maria.

25. "Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her" (From Heaven Above to Earth I Come) - Berliner Mozartchor.

26. "Still, still, weil's Kindlein schlafen will" - Schwarzwald-Familie Seitz.

27. "Zu Bethlehem geboren" - Kölner Kinderchor.

28. "Lobt Gott, ihr Christen allzugleich" - Berliner Mozartchor.

29. "Auf dem Berge, da weht der Wind" - Grit van Jüten.

30. "Kommet, ihr Hirten," 31. "Am Weihnachtsbaum ..," 32. "Fröhliche Weihnacht überall" - Heino und die Sonntagskinder at the Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt as it is being taken down.

33. "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht" - (Silent Night, Holy Night) - Regensburger Domspatzen in the Bavarian Alps with the Ramsau Church in the background.

34. The Christmas-shooters are announcing the "birth of the King" to the world.

35. "Wir wollen dankbar sein" - Tölzer Knabenchor.
